Comprehensive Aid Through Project Bread's FoodSource Hotline

For more than 75 years, R.W. Sullivan Engineering has provided innovative and sustainable engineering solutions to clients across Massachusetts and throughout New England. Dedicated to giving back to the local community, R.W. Sullivan Engineering supports nonprofits such as Project Bread.

Created to address the hunger crisis in Massachusetts, Project Bread takes a leading role in advocacy and education efforts alongside its programs that bring food to those in need. In order to assist the more than 700,000 individuals lacking sufficient nutrition across the state, the organization founded a hunger helpline, which boasts aid in more than 180 languages.

The counselors staffing Project Bread's FoodSource Hotline first screen callers for eligibility for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and guide them through the process to receive aid from that federal program as needed. They also follow up to ensure that the individuals have received that aid once they have submitted their applications. For those unable to receive SNAP aid or in need of additional assistance, the counselors recommend community resources such as meal programs and food pantries in their local area.
